EATON in Malaysia
Eaton is the famous private school in UK. The Eaton International School is set to open in September 2013 with its new campus in Kajang Selangor.
Thenew school will be modelled upon 'the school of the future' and will using the latest learning tools such as ipads, learning spaces and other such technologies.
The school will be offering prestigious British Curricullum accredited by CIE (Cambridge International Examination. Current it is operating from its interim campus at the commercial village.
So far the responses are good. It has achieved more than half of its recruitment target with Year 1,2 and 6 are almost at its capacity.

Just within a span of 6 years, the university, had managed to established itself as a driving force in online education. Currently, it s cross border and the cross culture programs have attracted 10,000 registered students, 700 of whom are pursuing Ph D and about 1300 are going courses at the master level.
Flexibility is the main factor that attracted people to join as the students of the university.
All programs are approved by the Malaysian MQA, the qualification agency of Malaysia. The delivery mode is blended, combining the traditional face-to-face lectures and the teaching using the technology.
The assessment is a combination of assignment and examination, making is more practical compared to the purely exam based system. The entry is more opened, giving credit point to practical experiences.

Top Spot for International School

A research conducted by ISC Research had identified Malaysia as one of the eight investment spot for international schools.
The research company that track global international school market said that the market in Malaysia is set to grow rapidly as the government has removed the restriction for Malaysian to attend International School.
Currently Malaysia has 112 international schools, in increase by 26 from the 2000. In 2009, the number was 67 with 23,000 and currently the number has increased to 43,000 children.
The other countries mentioned in the reports were Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia, Qatar and Singapore.
The report includes the key demographic data, an overview of the expatriate trends and historical data of the international school market.

UM Plus U of Wales Becomes IUMW
The premier university of Malaya and University of Wales of UK have agreed to team up to form a new private university known as IUMW - International University Malaya and Wales.
According to UM vice chancellor, the collaboration will provide more opportunities for Malaysian to pursue higher education. The current university of Malaya's population is about 13,000 with half of it pursuing postgraduate study.
The government objective was to have 60,000 PhD holders by 2020 and the current number is only 25,000.
Last May the ministry had made the announcement that public universities are allowed to team up with private universities to generate income necessary to reduce dependence on government funding.

US Degree in Malaysia
One of such university offering the degree without the need to go to USA is Upper Iowa University. Among the attraction is, the ability of the students to earn a Double Major. The program is offered in partnership with SEGI University under the 4+0 ADP.
