World Ranking

There is only four Malaysian Universities that had submitted the worlds ranking for 2014/2015. However the the better universities, UM and UKM had not submitted. Thus none of the Malaysian universities are ranked to even the top 400 universities in the world.

UM VC said that the reasons were:
1. UM has not completed building up the publication lists.
2. It has poor financial standing.

The main issues are, Malaysian Universities score very low scores in the reputation and citations.
These two criteria are heavily weighted.

The new ranking was released in Sept 2014 and non of the Malaysian Universities were even in the top 400.

The ranking were based on 13 elements across 5 categories , which are
- industrial outcomes
- teaching
- research
- citation
- international outlook.

The top rank are:
- California Inst of Technology.
- Harvard
- Oxford
- Stanford
- Cambridge
- Massachusetts Inst of Technology
- Princeton

To get it started, four IPTA..., UPM, UKM, UiTM and UniMAS Sarawak will be implementing four compulsory courses. The courses are:
