The Minister of Education had made a surprised announcement, the students of Malaysian Public Universities are required to pass the English Language.
This seem to be the series of Changes attempted by the government, some were aborted within a short period of less than 2 years while some may fizzle after some time. The examples are plenty, such as the SMART School and the teaching of Science and Mathematics in English. The latest was the School Based Assessment.

Currently, the students have to pass 3 compulsory subjects, BM, Malaysian Studies and Islamic Paper. When the new required gets its approval, the students have to pass the four subjects.
