Pinching at Public Universities

It was reported that the Malaysian Private Universities are pinching senior lecturers at the public universities enticing them by offering bigger money with lesser work load.

These are some of the examples:

1. The USM campus in Kubang Kerian in Kelantan is the worst hit. Thirty eight senior lecturer had left the school in the last six months.

2. University Malaya lost 21 clinical lecturers in the last 12 months.

The universities have to maintain certain students to lecturer ratio, 1: 4 for clinical and 1:6 for non clinical lecturers.
